THE REMOTE LEARNING CENTER EDUCATION

The Remote Learning Center Education (or referred to as RLCE in this document) will be implemented by CTLI Christian School this school year. We referred to it as “Students work at home while teachers work from home or some may work at Learning Centers” We shall employ the same Learning Center procedures and transport it to home settings but the students will remain under the facilitators of learning – class supervisors/teachers through online communication, basically with the use of easy and available online platforms. Video group chats - Google Meet, Zoom, and FB Messenger - as main platforms will be used for group “meetings” and discussions. Parents and guardians will serve as on-site partners in making sure that the students are doing their work properly.

RLCE from School of Tomorrow® Philippines defines RLCE as –

“The Remote Learning Center Education is SOT®P’s modified, alternative, and flexible system of learning in response to the “new normal” brought about by the global pandemic. It is an alternative mode of education which takes place through different communication means like online or correspondence where students do not have to be physically present in a particular location for face-to-face interaction.

“Remote, simply defined, means distant in face-to-face relationship or connection. Partnership with parents is still continued and even more reinforced.

“The procedures which can be modified will depend on the LGU’s precautionary measures where a school using the system is located and the capacity of the school.

“It is a temporary arrangement to address social distancing concerns while waiting for a concrete solution to the Covid-19 crisis will be applied.”

BLENDED LEARNING DELIVERY MODE

The Blended Learning Delivery Mode (Modules + Online Classes + Face-to-Face) will need to wait, as parents are understandably wary.

There will be no face-to-face classes until we are assured of safety of the students and teachers.

PREPARATION FOR SY 2020-2021

Planning ahead helps ensure the effective delivery of educational services to learners. The experience with a remote learning mode with just one level last April 2020-Level Three Science Class with Teacher Danielle Ledesma- gave us an opportunity to be prepared for the challenges of the coming school year. The Science Class was a response to a sudden disruption of classes. While we have found a degree of success in the implementation of a remote delivery system, we were also able to identify problem areas, especially critical ones, and thereby prepare better strategies to approach the current pandemic situation. We shall be adopting a more improved Remote Learning Center Education by fine tuning the procedures and using more online platforms.

CTLI’s delivery mode to be used under its Remote Learning Center Education (Distance Learning) are the following:

Modular Learning through the use of self-learning materials given to learners who undertake self-directed study at home. The materials called “PACEs” are published and distributed by School of Tomorrow® Philippines and Accelerated Christian Education® (ACE) Ministries and are used in the core subjects. Learning concepts are not compressed since the materials remain the same as in the physical Learning Center setting. The teachers remain the facilitators of learning as they engage the students through technology using video/audio chat platforms. Parents and guardians assist in the monitoring process.

Online Learning through lectures, discussions, and group activities via the internet. Online delivery will use both –

Synchronous learning by which students and teacher meet in real time using video conferencing, live chatting, or live-streaming.

Asynchronous learning by which students can access teacher-provided materials – video lessons, video clips, reading materials – at different times.

Online learning will also be used for classes in non-PACE subjects like MAPE, EPP, and Mother Tongue.
